A Smile For a Child at Christmas

On October 5th, the Wednesday night ladies’ class will be preparing shoeboxes to be sent to children in Nicaragua to brighten their Christmas and show them that Jesus loves them.

Anyone that would like to participate is encouraged to do so.  You may prepare your own shoebox or provide items to be placed in the shoeboxes.

THREE EASY STEPS

1)  Fill a shoebox with special items from each of the main categories.  Each box should be for a child between the ages of 2-12.

2)  Wrap the box and lid separately in holiday wrapping paper.

3)  Indicated whether the gift is for a boy or a girl and place $5 on top of the box to cover the cost of shipping.

EACH BOX SHOULD CONTAIN….

1)  School Supplies…pencils, a pencil sharpener, pens and a paper product, one set of colors (crayons, markers, or colored pencils) Any books should be bilingual or Spanish only.

2)  Personal items … toothbrush and toothpaste, soap or shampoo, and washcloth, a comb, hairclips, bands, or bows.

3)  Clothing …one item of clothing (socks, underwear, t0shirt, caps )

4)  Toys …about 3 toys (no military camouflage, or battery-operated) ***must fit in the shoebox.  Suggestions small cars balls , dolls, stuffed animals, bubbles, jump ropes, stickers

5)  Filler…top your box with a handful of hard candy such as lollipops, mints, gum, etc..  Do not send chocolate or other candies that can melt.

If you would like to contribute items to be placed in shoeboxes, please bring those as well as any completed shoeboxes to church by October 5th.
