ELDER’S EVALUATION
Acts 14:23 – “And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting, they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.”
Thank you for your participation and questions and comments so far on Sunday nights in our discussion about elders. In the next few weeks we will begin a
re-evaluation of our present elders and deacons, and then consider new elders
and deacons, if any names are submitted to the congregation.
So far, we’ve studied the Biblical scriptural names for elders (pastors, leaders, guardians, shepherds, overseers, bishops) and have studied at length the two combined passages from Timothy and Titus. We will continue with a Sunday night devoted to the questions of authority and also the work and responsibilities of
elders. How do you (the congregation) appoint elders, and how are elders removed?
If you missed our last two Sunday nights, and you’d like a copy of the list of summary qualifications of elders, those papers are on the counter in the foyer. Learn the qualifications, and learn about the men, and pray for wisdom from the Chief Shepherd.
